Philip Burrows re-elected Chair of the HL-LHC Collaboration Board

The HL-LHC project aims to increase the performance of the Large Hadron Collider in order to increase the potential for discoveries after 2030. The objective is to increase the data sample by a factor of 10 beyond the LHC’s design value. The c. £1B project is led by CERN with the support of an international collaboration of 44 institutions in 20 countries - the vast majority in various European countries including Italy, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom - and including a number of CERN’s non-Member States such as the United States, Japan and Canada. At its meeting in Genoa on 8^th October 2024, Prof. Burrows was elected to Chair the Board for a further period of 2 years.
