Professor Philip Burrows contributed to the publication of the Physics Briefing Book 2026 input as one of the Accelerator and Technology convenors this year.
The European Strategy for Particle Physics Update welcomed input from the high energy physics community, of which the outcomes and deliberations evaluated by the Physics Preparatory Group were then synthesised by 129 authors into the Physics Briefing Book. A large-scale project such as this required an enormous amount of time and effort from these authors and contributors, but lead to a succinct yet fascinating overview of the vision of the European particle physics community. This European Strategy is updated every 5 to 6 years, outlining the projects for the near-, mid-, and long-term future of the field.
