JAI Summer internship at CERN

Congratulations to Lorenzo Tranchedone for completing his JAI Summer internship at CERN.

My project focused on investigating bunch dynamics in the CLEAR injector, with the objective of obtaining an electron beam with a uniform transverse distribution using a new method. I worked in the CLEAR facility on the CERN Meyrin site, where I performed both simulation and experimental analyses of the evolution of the beam shape in the injector, trying to understand its dependence on several parameters. This study revealed a very rich behaviour, which was both interesting and fun to analyse. The experimental results were also promising, suggesting that this method may find application at CLEAR or elsewhere in the near future.
